It is located in the south-eastern part of Bangladesh. The geographic location is 22°38′N 92°12′E. Sajek is the largest union of Bangladesh. Sajek valley is located in Baghaichori upozila in Rangamati District. The communication is easier through Khagrachhori, though it is in the Rangmati district. But some people prefer to travel in a boat from Rangamati by Kaptai lake. But in this route, you have to walk a lot. Sajek is only 70 kilometers from Khagrachari. From Rangamati you can travel by jeep to Dhighinala Army Camp. It is about 39 kilometers road. The nest location is 10 Baghaihat police and army camp. You have to take permission from here to travel in Sajek valley. The road to Sajek will bring Kaslong Bridge next. Two rivers converge here and form Kaslong River. Passing through the Tiger Tila Army Post and Maslong Bazar you will rich the first village of Sajek (Ruilui Para). Ruilui Para is about 1800 feet above the sea level. The main population here is Lusay. From here Sajek valley is very close. After crossing Sajek you will reach Kolonk Para. It is in the border of Bangladesh. From here a wonderful view of Lusay Mountain of India can be seen. Need a tour guide to Sajek valley? From Dhaka available bus service is there for Khagrachari. Shamoly, Hanif and BRTC runs quality bus service in this route. Travelling cost will be 550 to 700 Tk. Here you will get some good hotels and motels for staying. Prjoton motels, Hotel Ico-Chori-Inn, Hotel-Jerin provide quality service here. Now in Dighanola you need to find a new place. Dighanala guest house (01827468377) is the best option here. Along with the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MoWCA), Save the Children in Bangladesh observed the week with different activities. The theme of the week, decided by the government, was “ থাকবে শিশু সবার মাঝে ভাল, দেশ –সমাজ পরিবারে জলবে আশার আলো (If the children stay well with us, country-society and family will see the ray of hope).” Each year Bangladesh government observes the International Children’s Day on the first Monday of October and declares the week as the Child Rights Week, to raise the awareness on the rights of children.
